[24F] First Solo Travel (to Colombia?)
Hey, all! I've been lurking about for a bit now, and this is my first post.
My 25th birthday is in August, and I want to take an international trip. My sister's birthday is right around the same time, and we were going to take a trip together, but she bailed. I've traveled some in Mexico alone, and lived there for about 6 months. I speak decent Spanish and know to use common sense when traveling.
Colombia is looking affordable and fun. However, I will only have 4-7 days depending on how much I want to spend. Cartagena and Bogota are the cheapest place to fly into. Which should I visit, if I'm forced to narrow down to only one?
I enjoy cultural activities--museums, landmarks, history tours, etc. I also enjoy nature--camping, hiking. I'd also love to get at least one good night out in while I'm there!
Bogota is seeming like it might be what I want, but the beach and seafood of Cartagena is calling me.
Anyone been to both and have a suggestion? Any tips welcome! (:
