CT to CA, Solo RoadTrip OR Airtrip to Chicago followed with California Zephyr Train ? What do you think would be the best option ?
I've never done a RoadTrip before by myself (once drove 7 Hrs & I didn't feel exhausted)
I'm moving from CT to CA. I've 20 days time before I start my new job in Folsom, CA. I don't plan to take the flight to California directly as I wish to experience this transition phase & have some self reflection time with some adventure before I start my new job.
I've a mid size Sedan, I'm confused between doing the RoadTrip all the way for 3000 miles or whether to take the California Zephyr Train. Can someone let me know what they would do, just want to hear to some perspective.
I'm ok to split my RoadTrip to 7 days & stay in hotel. Cost is not much of an issue. I'm ok to spend 2-3 Grand for this experience.
Only thing that's actually scaring me to take the RoadTrip is what if my car breaks down in middle of nowhere (anyways I'll get my car serviced before I leave) and other thing is it wise to drive 3000 miles, will it be too much of an impact to my back? Or on a contrary, is it a good decision to take flight to Chicago & board 55 Hrs Train to California & ship my car through vehicle transport agencies ?
If you've any other thought, it's welcome. I'm little confused on this one, still preparing my head around what would be a good experience for me, that's where I'm seeking help from this community.
