Advice on my Central/Eastern Europe itinery
Hi all, heading to Central/Eastern Europe in July/August. Hoping to get some of your expertise on my itinery. A couple of points:
- I am doing a tour in Russia, so will fly out of Moscow on the 10th July - have not yet booked this flight, so starting city is changeable.
- I will be going to 3 days of Sziget, with my flight home from Hungary, so ending city is not changeable (I realise this makes me take a bit of an odd route.
- I will be aiming for a mixed bag - some hiking/nature, generic tourist activities and partying.
So - initial thoughts on itinery, with number of nights:
Krakow 3 / Wroclaw 2 / Prague 3 / Cesky Krumlov 2 / Ljubljana 2 / Lake Bled 2 / Split 3 / Dubrovnik 2 / Kotor 1 / Mostar 1 / Sarajevo 2 / Belgrade 2 / Budapest 6
Happy on advice about removing/adding days to cities, or removing/adding cities all together. If you have a better suggestion for the route, let me know! I know that some of these may involve long transport between (maybe a couple of overnight busses etc).
Also - I have been to Dubrovnik previously, though it was in Winter so the city was DEAD. Main thought here, was that I have heard Kotor/Montenegro is awesome. Is it worth going down that far to check out another country, or should I just head into Bosnia and Herzegovina from Split?
Any hostel recommendations welcome also!
Cheers! :)
