I'm not one to plan my trips. Usually I have a few things I would like to do and places I would like to go, but I don't like making too many concrete plans as I generally wing it. I arrive in Cartagena on the 25th. This will be my third trip to Colombia ( I love it ). I will be travelling for 2-3 months. I don't really have any set plans other than Carnival in Barranquilla the first week of March and possibly the Lost City trek.

Right now my plan is:

Cartagena, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Parque Tayrona, Minca, Palomino and then back to Barranquilla for Carnival. After Carnival I might fly to Medellin to visit some friends, but I will decide then.

So, what I am asking for is recommendations and suggestions on things to do and places to go. Beaches, Hostels, Restaurants, Tours or anything.

I enjoy hiking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, dancing and partying. I am open to trying just about anything once.

Could any of you fine people who have been to the north coast share with me your favourite places and activities?
