First time solo - advice on loneliness?
I’m headed to Japan in a few days for a 2.5 weeks solo backpacking trip. I’ve done backpacking trips with friends before, but never on my own.
I guess I’m most worried about feeling lonely. I know I’ll be spending a lot of time alone, which I’m fine with, but I’m kind of scared of having those moments when I’m eating a meal alone and just get overwhelmed by a feeling of crippling loneliness.
Maybe that’s just part of the process? I know I can socialize with other travelers in my hostel if I want to, but a part of me just wants to push through the lonely bits and see how I grow from it.
Any tips/words of assurance for a early 20s, somewhat introverted traveler would be amazing.
