Help (please) us plan the Ultimate West Coast Roadtrip
Hey guys and girls,
For the past 3 years my Wife and I have been working super hard, with my wife training to become a barrister (attorney in the US), she has been working 17-18 hour days 6 to 7 days a week for the past 18 months.
It's been hard. On top of that, we got married in June, so the planning and execution of that along with work commitments were tough, but it was awesome :)
Now, we've got the chance to spend our wedding gift money and we've just booked flights to Oakland airport CA from 6th to 27th July next year, and we need some help with planning the best possible route.
In terms of things we want to do...
- The typical sights, Alcatraz, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Yellowstone, lots of national parks etc etc
- We're really into the outdoors, but aren't terribly fit. So some good hikes but nothing insane.
Also wondering if you guys can help recommend best way to plan our accommodation.
We love to camp and was thinking of bringing some of our lightweight/compact camping gear. OR, renting a minivan and sleeping in that when at National parks etc where you wouldn't necessarily want to be locked inside a hotel room.
I've started getting some ideas down on a GoogleMap that I hope you guys can contribute to, to let us know some must see's and things to do.
