I want to abandon my life and travel for a year
(20F) I'm sick of my job, my friends and the life I'm living. I've realized I don't want the "American Dream". I don't want the picket fence, the kids, the new car, or the obligations. I want the solitude, the freedom, and the endless possibilities.
I'm thinking of traveling around the world for 2 years. I've never solo traveled before, but nonetheless I have traveled. I'm fully prepared to stay at my job and save up enough to live off for a year while on the road, but in hopes to work and go with the flow the second year.
I guess the point of this post is to ask; How much should I save up for a year? I will be budgeting as much as I can. What can I do to save money faster? Is there any resources you'd recommend with info for a first time solo traveler?
Regardless of my questions, I'd love to hear your thoughts/advice/precautions/experience about this. I'm a pretty open-minded individual. Thank you in advance.
