Need itinerary advice! Booked trip to France but want to go to South America
Hello all! Just an aspiring adventurer here (28/M) from Toronto looking for your sage itinerary/flight advice on planning my long-term trip starting in July with a tight budget. Sorry for the bit of a length.
I plan to embark on a long journey to different parts of the world. Slow-paced, but low budget (possibly earning money on the way).
I booked a flight to Paris in July (one-way ticket, $300, non-refundable) so that I can spend a few months in south of France, doing some workaways for accommodation, etc. Sounds great, right? Well, now I'm starting to think South America is an amazing place to be (Peru, Equador, Argentina, Chile). But Europe --> South America is hella expensive. I also thought about alternative routes (e.g. from Spain / Morrocco) but price is not too great either. In comparison, North America (like Toronto) --> South America is quite cheaper in comparison.
Given my shoestring budget, should I just forsake France and grab a new flight to South America? Any creative itinerary ideas would be very much appreciated. Time-wise, I have no commitments and so very flexible.
Maybe I am second-guessing my love for south of France (I may be fearing the higher living costs of Europe, but please convince me that it's worth going there!). But it also seems that if I go to Europe first, I won't have a chance to visit South America for a long-term trip, just because the cost of Europe --> South America trip is somewhat prohibitive.
Any ideas are super welcome!
