Norway, Denmark, Iceland (maybe Faroe Islands) 2018???
Hey r/travel,
My friend and I are planning a trip to Iceland, Norway, Denmark, and possibly the Faroe Islands. However, we have a few questions.
-
Our budget is 2,500 dollars each ($5,000 total). Would that be enough to visit each country? Will it be too much?
-
We really want to include the Faroe Islands in our trip (probably 2-3 days). However, flights from NYC to the Faroe Islands are more expensive than flights to Iceland. We'd be willing to start out trip in Denmark if we could possibly get a ferry over to the Faroe Islands. Is this possible? If so, is it a cheaper alternative to flying to the Faroe Islands.
-
We are going in the summer in 2018. Is this an optimal time to visit Scandinavia?
-
What would be the easiest way to travel around these countries? Bus? Car? Train?
Here's some of the things we want to do: - Glacier cave exploring - natural hot springs - waterfalls (scenic stuff we can figure out on our own) - Fjords
If you have any suggestions of things to do, let us know!
We want to spend 2-3 days in Denmark, 2-3 days in the Faroe Islands, a week in Norway and a week in Iceland. We are based out of NYC, if that helps with cost projections. Thanks so much for your help!
