Which countries have you been to where you can live off $20 a day? Obviously not including tours or entrance prices. Just the hostel, food, and public transportation, pretty much all the basics needed to live
Most places in Peru can easily be done on under $20 a day. If you are being extra economical with food then you can even live there off $10-12 a day. Drinks are not that expensive so even if you go out partying every night you can easily do so off a $20-25 daily budget
Some places in Chile and Argentina can be done on under $20 a day, namely Valparaiso and Buenos Aires. Most of the attractions here are architecture anyway, which is free for everyone to enjoy. Other places in these countries are a lot more expensive however
