Road Trippin' on the Blue Ridge Parkway - Tips & Hints?
Hi all - me and my partner are planning a drive through the blue ridge parkway and I had the following questions:
1) When i tried plotting out the route on Google Maps, it doesn't show you the route through Blue ridge parkway. I tried using a custom map but i don't think custom maps can be used for navigation purposes within the app. Does anyone have tips on the best ways to track and stay on route in the parkway? Or do you just have to use the mile markers to stay on track and know where to stop?
2) I saw a lot of posts saying that a 2/3 day drive would be very rushed on the parkway, since there are several spots that are worth stopping and checking out that you will otherwise miss if you keep driving. We lengthened our plan now to 4 days (for a round trip starting from Atlanta). Will this be a reasonable amount of time to drive with multiple stops in between?
3) If we are camping out for one night, should I buy firewood at the start and load up the car ( don't want to carry excess weight), or are there spots along the way where you can get firewood for camping? We are planning to stay at one of the camp sites along the way.
