Seattle, WA to Denver, CO during December
Looking for recommendations of places to stop at during this trip. Me and my girlfriend will be driving to my parents to visit and then driving back.
Looking at google maps, it's recommending to take I-84E and I-80E so I was wondering if there are any stops that people recommend, particularly in Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming since we'll be in Denver for a good two weeks. Although I'm also open for recommendations of things to do near Denver.
Another route it recommends is taking I-90 E and I-25 S, which looks like an interesting route, although about an hour longer than the other. It seems to me that this drive is close to Yellowstone National Park. Not sure if it's worth visiting during the middle of winter. But also willing to hear recommendations on Montana and Wyoming.
FWIW, we'll be driving an AWD Murano and will have chains, unsure if we'll have winter tires as well at this point, although I know they are recommended when driving through winter weather, especially out here in the rockies.
