I’m planning a roadtrip through Colorado at the end of June. Some thoughts in text below
My plan is to leave southeast Texas on 26th. There are three of us. My wife and a 6 year old.
Precautions we will take include a supply of cleaning products, masks, gloves etc. I also ordered toilet seat covers for added protection.
I feel that the biggest weak points are restrooms along the route. Mostly truck stops have decent restrooms. Buc’ces , loves and flying Js travel centers. We plan to stop every 2-2.5 hours and take a bathroom break that’s planned to avoid an emergency run.
In hotels, I plan to stick to Hilton and Marriott properties 3.5 star and above. Protocol will be for me to go to room first and sanitize high touch areas with bleach.
We will take our own blankets, pillows and sheets. Though we could request fresh sheets when we get there. Spray down the beds and pillows with Lysol fabric sprays and also alcohol sanitizer as added protection.
We will stick to national and state parks mostly where we can be out in the open and maintain distance.
How is everyone else planning their trips? I would love comments and ideas.
