Solo trip to Nepal in July, questions about trekking/motorcycles
I will be in Nepal on a tight budget for 2-3 weeks in July, which I realize is monsoon season and not the best time of year to go. How feasible would it be to go solo trekking during this time of year without a required guide and without an expensive permit (e.g. Upper Mustang permit is $500)? Are there ways to meet up with other people interested in trekking as a group (I'll be staying in hostels)? I have mountaineering/camping experience, but read that there are tea houses. How necessary is a tent?
Also, how feasible is it to tour the country on a rental motorcycle at this time of year? I will possibly go solo unless I find other people willing to go. Is this a bad idea? The guided groups look amazing but are too expensive.
