Solo Travel Across USA by train
So I am mildly versed in solo travel I spent 6 weeks during October and November traveling across Europe mostly by myself .
So I've been trying to plan a trip by train across the States starting at the end of this month. I've been really struggling trying to figure out dates times for trains. In the States there doesn't seem to be a good website to access to see lots of train times and varying options for yourself. I have been trying to use the Amtrak website but it does not seem to be the most helpful. Do any of you know a better website for train travel in the US? Or have some planning advice?
Another issue I'm facing is that I have agreed to meet up with a relative in Raleigh(North Carolina)in mid June and that makes my trip I split up with 2 weeks before and 5 weeks after to see all of the things I am hoping to. I was hoping at the 2 weeks prior to needing to meet my relative I would be able to go up from Colorado to Toronto and see Niagara Falls. Have any of you had experience traveling and crossing the Canada border by train? How difficult is it? Is 2 weeks enough time to go from Denver to Toronto see Niagara Falls and make it to Raleigh? From my research I have found that there would be at least 3 train changes and a border crossing(from Denver to Toronto), I am just trying to figure out what the best path is. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
