Currently in Thailand on my first solo trip how do you deal with panic attacks when things go wrong?
26F on my first solo trip to Southeast Asia (first solo trip, AND first trip to Asia).
My bag was taken on the first leg of the flight because there was no overhead space. They promptly lost my bag in Manilla, and while the Malaysian baggage office has been very helpful in making up a file reference number, I’ve heard nothing from the airline despite notifying them. It’s now been about 2 days. Luckily, my travel insurance will reimburse me, but I have no idea when I’ll get my bag back.
Additionally, I’ve been getting a deep sense of dread every time I go outside. I think the heat and humidity has been affecting me and I’m not sure what to do but stay inside the hostel and relax for now.
Are these types of jitters normal for a first trip? I’m a fairly anxious person and took this trip to recover from burnout after finishing my degree. I know this trip is a fairly big shift, but will I get used to it? What do you guys do to recover?
