I'm (21m) going to be solo backpacking around Bali and Java in a few months time. I do not have a motorcycle licence in my home country, so my travel insurance will not cover me. I hear that the traffic in Bali is insane and it's not a matter of if, but when you will have an accident. I do not fancy having my mum spend £10,000 to repatriate me and/or being a paraplegic.

Is it feasible to get around Bali without renting a scooter?

My plan is to combine go-jek, blue bird, Uber, Grab (I'm aware these are not liked by locals in parts of Bali), and riding on scooters as a passenger.
