Advice! Traveling by California Zephyr
Hi all, I’m pretty new to this sub, but it looks like the right place to post this. If it isn’t, please let me know where I can! Thanks
A little background. I just graduated from my University and a spur of the moment decision led me to cancel my flight in favor of taking the train, and extend my stay by a week to be with my friends longer. Long story short, my university is across the country in Chicago and I live in California. Was this a stupid decision? Probably, but I really wanted to stay with my friends a bit longer before we enter the real world.
So in terms of what I want to ask... any advice for a first timer going on the Zephyr? I’ve got a luggage I plan to check and some carry on, typical flight stuff since I’m not flying anymore. I’m going to be riding in a coach seat since that’s all I could really afford, but I’m a pretty sound sleeper so I’m not terribly worried about an uncomfortable trip in that regard. But, farther than that I don’t know what to expect. Should I be so worried?
