First major road trip and could use all forms of help!
Hey folks, my friend and I have decided that after being trapped on Long Island for the past 23 years, it's time we got out and explored everything this country has to offer. We've decided to leave here sometime around mid-May and do a National Parks Road Trip. Our stops as of this moment looks like this:
Long Island, NY
Chicago, IL
Rocky Mountain Park, CO
Zion Park, UT
Grand Canyon, AZ
Sequoia Forest, CA
Yosemite, CA
Redwoods Forest, CA
Olympic Park, WA
Glacier Park, MT
Grand Teton, WY
Yellowstone, WY
Mount Rushmore, SD
This is our first time doing anything like this, as this is going to be a 6 week trip involving lots of camping and living out of my friends Tacoma. Back in March we did a great weeklong loop around Colorado and have felt inspired ever since. We're hoping this is a soul-searching journey of sorts, as neither of us are too sure Long Island is where our future lies. There are many other reasons for this trip as well, but first and foremost we want to make sure this is something that we can look back on in 20 years and say, "That was the best time of our lives."
If anyone has any suggestions for us to help us achieve that goal, we're open to all advice, recommendations, constructive criticism, etc. Let us know what to see! Where to eat! Where to sleep! We're open books waiting to be written.
