34F // 1st Time Solo Trip! // London + Madrid + Paris

London // May 9 - 12

Madrid // May 12 - 14

Paris // May 14 - 17 AM

Third trip to Europe and am totally stoked to be going back, and specifically, to be going back with the totally different experience of solo travel. I *think* I've done most of the groundwork in booking flights, checking baggage policies, buying insurance, booking accommodations, notifying phone and credit card companies. Definitely still have questions!

HOSTELS:

I've never been to any of these cities, nor have I ever stayed in a hostel. I've booked hostels for all three cities and while excited, I want to make sure I'm being smart and safe. I read each hostel has lockers for daytime and overnight storage. I'm a little freaked out about how to charge my phone etc., how to store my key so it's not falling out of my pocket while I'm sleeping since I'll be, ya know, sleeping, and not necessarily wearing clothes with zippers at that time. I'm really looking forward to the social element of the hostel, and I'm interested in what your pro tips are for navigating safely. I'm in rooms with 6 beds. All female in London and Madrid, and mixed in Paris.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

Do I need to buy passes in each city?

Looks like Uber is available in each city, is it easy to get a ride?

*I have T-Mobile and expect cell service to be ok.

FUN STUFF:

I LOVE to dance. I typically make it a point to get to the best techno and house venues I can find when I'm travelling. What are the institutions of these cities? I don't yet see any festivals online, any I should know about?

- On that note, I've not really done this solo except in my own city. Again, I've got a concern for safety, and wondering the best way to do this.

I love music - not just electronic. :) Live music in social environments is my go to, and I'm open to something more traditional and special to these cities. What do you say??

Food, food, food. Looking for off the beaten path gems. I'm adventurous and will try almost anything that's not touristy.

I think my biggest concern is being alone for nightlife. Probably making a bigger deal in my head than it will be.

Would love your insights on getting around, what to see and do! Thank you! :)
