Stay in one city or multiple for Germany trip this summer?
Hi there, I'm thinking of going to Germany for 1 week this summer. For context, I've spent many holidays with family in Germany (in Black Forest, Lake Constance, Munich, Berlin, Rhein), but want to try traveling there on my own. I only want to do one week in case I don't like the solo-aspect. I'm a 21 year old student from England.
My current plan is to stay in Cologne for 5 days from 1-5th of July (flights and accomodation £250), and afterwards stay with my brother in the Netherlands. Currently planning to spending some time exploring Cologne and also day-tripping other nearby towns by train(e.g. Aachen). I plan on staying in a private room in a hostel.
Would it be better to be staying in different cities for these days - Should I be prioritising the "travelling" aspect by doing more cities/hostels or just stay in one city. My budget is ideally £500 but very flexible. Additionally, is it worth booking ahead to commit myself to the trip, or leaving it until later and being flexible with dates etc.
