Is going to St. Petersburg and Moscow for a week in winter worth it?
Hello all! Basically what the title says.
I'm staying in Finland, in a city about 300km away from St. Petersburg. My brother keeps insisting I should go for a week or so, and I obviously really want to, however, it's been snowing pretty much every day here and it's a bit difficult to just go sightseeing when it's -10°C and the snow gets in your face.
I'm short on money but I definitely can afford this, it's just that I'm afraid I will pay the whole visa fee + general travel expenses + buses/trains and will not even get to properly experience these cities or will stay insided the hostels the whole time.
Has anyone been to (this side of) Russia during February and if so, what was your experience?. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: Forgot to mention there's a possibility my visa would be denied since I'm traveling with my tourist visa here in Finland, so that's also something to consider.
