18 day Europe trip itinerary advice
Hi everyone! I’m trying to figure out the breakdown of my itinerary for my Europe trip in June and could use some input before I start booking hostels. I will be flying into Berlin at the beginning of the trip and then back home from Budapest (flight already booked). I will need to make a stop in Liechtenstein to visit some family which complicates the trip a bit and takes me a bit out of my way. My concern (from looking at other itineraries/threads) is that the middle of the trip might be a bit hectic bouncing from place to place but I think I should maximize my days in Berlin and Budapest. I’ve already visited Munich so I don’t need to spend a ton of time there. In Liechtenstein I’ll visit my family and then probably go for a hike so I also only need a day there. I am used to 14 hour slow/awful Amtrak trips so I actually really enjoy taking the train in Europe and don’t mind the travel in between stops. I’ve separated out travel days from full days in each stop below:
Arrive in Berlin at 9 PM after a 7 hour layover in Stockholm (will check out Stockholm for a bit if I sleep enough on the plane)
Berlin-4 days
Travel day: Berlin->Munich (4 Hour ICE train)
Munich-1 day
Travel: Munich->Liechtenstein (3.5 hour train)
Liechtenstein-1 day
Travel: Liechtenstein->Vienna (6.5 hour train)
Vienna: 2 days
Travel: Vienna->Budapest (2.5 hour train)
Budapest-4 days
Depart from Budapest at 3pm
Should I re-allocate any of my days on the trip? I’m planning on staying at EastSeven in Berlin and Carpe Noctem original in Budapest. I really appreciate any advice, thanks!
