Whale watching in Lofoten from land + camping tips
Hi
I'm going to Lofoten this July (so excited!) and have seen it should be possible to see both sperm whales and killer whales if going on a boat trip. I hope I can afford that but while I figure that out - does any of you know, how likely it is to see them from land? Are some areas better to go to than others? Some times of the day better than others?
I know nature can't be planned, and I can't know for certain, but if there is a real chance to see them from land somewhere I was thinking I could camp in that area, as to spend more time and so make it more likely to happen.
And while in the topic of camping. Does any of you have any experience with how easy it is to find a suitable spot close to fresh water? I'm aware of allemannsretten/the right to roam, so it's mostly how easy you found it to find spots.
Any other tips for Lofoten is also welcome. I don't have a car but plan to get around with a mix of buses and hitch hiking.
