Planning trip on Blue Ridge Parkway
We are planning a 7+ day trip where we want to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway later this month. We are going to fly into Atlanta to start the trip, and most likely, drive back to Atlanta to fly out. We were considering flying back from Richmond, but it seemed to be much more expensive to do that vs just driving back to Atlanta, plus the rental car costs are more dropping off somewhere else.
Anyways, could we have some advice on the following:
Should we spend more time at the beginning and visit Cades Cove, and Gatlinburg area, or spend time at the end and visit Richmond/Jamestown/Historic Virginia? The wife is wanting to do a separate trip to Virginia and thinks that will be easier since theres so much to do there.
Anyways, we've been to Boone/Blowing Rock, and were planning on spending one night there. What other places are good stops ?
We are struggling a bit to figure out the pacing of the trip, since we don't know how much time we need to spend in each area, or what we need to see, while not knowing how long the drive itself will take.
Thank you!
