One Week in Southern Utah - Several Questions
Hi everyone. I'm planning a solo trip around Southern Utah from Arches to Zion National Park around mid-Sept. I'm in the processing of building up my itinerary and have several questions if you care to answer one or all of them. Thanks! 1. I'll be flying to Salt Lake City and plan to do a little camping; what gear should I definitely bring on the plane (I do have a tent) and what should I buy once I land. 2. I'm planning to make Moab, Torrey, and Kanab as bases for the national parks. Are there any campsites or lodges/ hotels you recommend I stay? I do want amenities like a shower, but open to BLM campgrounds. It'll be my first time camping, so any advice is helpful 3. I'm planning on hiking throughout the entirety of the trip, but would like some variety like swimming holes, star-gazing, etc. What are your opinions on side trips such as Lower Calf Creek Falls and Sand Hollow State Park? Are they worth the visit? Any other activities besides hiking that I could fit into my schedule? 4. I'm sure I'll miss a lot of hikes and experiences due to time constraints, but definitely hitting the obvious sites like Angel's Landing/ Narrows; care to share your experience or additional advice if you have? Thanks again and I appreciate it
