I’m in Hanoi by myself and I had a serious breakthrough on my solo adventures here in SEA! I’ve been in a funk for a few days since I got in the city. The backpacker party thing isn’t really fitting my style atm. Not really sure what I’m doing by myself. Just feeling generally like a fish out of water trying to socialize. Then one of these serious rain storms kick up! Streets are flooding! There’s lightning, there’s thunder! And I decide fuckall I don’t need to force myself into the same conversations I’ve been having for weeks trying to get to know people. I decide to go hunt for the best Bahn My sandwich I can get at this hour in my area. I down some beers to help with the appetite and throw on a rain jacket. I’ve been going up and down the streets trying sandwiches in alley ways and restaurants; all in this downpour. Now I’m sipping coffee in this lovely Vietnamese family cafe. This is the feeling I’ve been waiting for!
