Looking for cheap travel destinations!
I’m turning 18 at the end this year and I want to start doing some traveling but I live in a super small town (only 500 people) so getting higher paying jobs is difficult. I’m wanting to find places inside and outside the US that would be cheap and safe for a lone female traveler. And I’m not expecting super cheap but maybe places where food, lodge, travel cost and adventuring wouldn’t make my wallet choke.
-at least a bit of English speaking. I’m better a reading Spanish but it’s still difficult for me. Also know a bit of Italian but not much and my family comes from Germany so I could get by with that. So I need some English so I won’t be totally lost.
Some things I’m looking for:
-Safe. I’m a relatively cautious person but when I get excited about things I tend to loose focus. I definitely smart in choices I make and don’t really get myself into messy situations but I’m still a small 5’6” girl. So I’d want some place I wouldn’t be afraid to walk around alone and be scared to sleep at night.
- I enjoy the beach a lot but I really like old towns with a lot of shops and things to do. I love more museums and art galleries with a lot of historic value. I love science and just knowledge in general. I like a lot of brick and farmers markets. I love the city’s a lot too and I would prefer a warmer climate. I love boardwalks, and I would love to try hiking and exploring a tad bit more nature but I’m not a huge nature person. I’ve kayaked a lot in my life but would love to try that in other places. I love the idea of Rome, Greece, and Peru, so places similar!
-places I could pack a lot and still get by. I tend to over pack and I love fashion so I would definitely need a hotel or something like that to stay in.
-I don’t mind just being alone. I was homeschooled all my life but still am extremely social when I want but I do enjoy being alone.
-the big thing is I really want to learn from this trip, not just travel because I can. I want to gain more knowledge of others cultures and lives!
