India itinerary advice
My ‘home base’ for the next 3 weeks is in Goa, India and I have about 18 days left until I fly back to the USA from Mumbai. I’d like to travel a bit before I head home though. How does my plan sound:
29/04 take a train from Goa to Mumbai, Mumbai to Delhi, Delhi to Haridwar (unless there’s a closer station to Rishikesh) Bus from Haridwar to Rishikesh (~33 hours?)
30/04 to 06/05 Hang out in Rishikesh. Do some yoga. See some touristy things ? I’m mainly wanting to see The Beatles ashram, but reading online it looks like there’s some other touristy things around to see/do– I’d prefer free/cheap things. Is 7 days “too long”?
07/05 to 09/05? Take a train to Agra. I want to visit the Taj Mahal, with the chance to see it at sunrise and/or sunset (I’ve heard it’s the best to see it at either times). Is there anything else worth seeing in Agra?
10/05 to ? I have a friend in New Delhi that I wouldn’t mind visiting but am okay if I don’t get a chance.
Should I visit Delhi for 6 days, then take a train to Mumbai and fly home, or take a train back to Goa for 4-5 days (will take about 1 day to reach Goa from Agra) just to train back up to Mumbai?
