You gave me the inspiration to shake my fear and head to Thailand, solo! I ended up skipping my return flight and explored some of China, Laos, and Nepal as well. I just got back to the states a few weeks ago, and plan on packing up (with a little better knowledge of what I'll need while backpacking), and heading to the Philippines in just a few short weeks!

What was originally going to be a 3 week trip is turning into traveling indefinitely. I have plans for Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Sydney as well.

My question for you folks, is if you know of any ethical voluntourism opportunities involving animal or marine welfare while abroad? Preferably in SEA, the Sydney area in NSW, or Peru/ Chilie. I'm going into conservation as a career, and would like to get involved with projects while I travel, and give back as I go. Thank you, again! :)
