First Solo, advice/encouragement is appreciated
I've been lurking around for a while and I've decided to post my questions/concerns.
This will be my first SOLO trip, 25M from US, I'm heading to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris during the World Cup. I've never stayed in a hostel and the idea is somewhat concerning to me. I've considered renting out the private rooms, but this will drive up the price, and also I'm concerned it will isolate me. I am not super outgoing and I'd like to be able to make some friends. Any advice on how to pick the right hostel? Also as far as my plans, I don't really have much, I will explore the cities during the days, but I'm also planning on going to bars/watch parties for all the World Cup games. I am also interested in trying out the night life, but again am concerned about doing it alone. I know this is a generally broad topic but since I've never traveled solo I don't even know what questions to ask. Any advice on hostels, or the cities themselves is much appreciated!
