Want to go on my first solo trip to take a break from uni. Should I go to Barcelona or Madrid?

Hi. I'm from the UK and I really want to go travelling just by myself to take a break from uni. I'm set on going to Barcelona or Madrid on the 18th plus I want to visit another city within the European Union on the 21st. The reason I want to go on the 18th is because FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are playing a football match that day and I'd like to watch a game live there and then go explore the city on the 19th and 20th. I can't decide which city out of those two I should visit so I'm interested to hear what you would recommend. On the 21st I'd like to visit another EU city like Amsterdam or Berlin or somewhere that has great landscapes and views that I can just sit and admire (that's also safe to be). I would love to hear your experiences or any advice you might have. Thank you so much in advance.
