Central/South American itinerary & packing help
My two main questions for those of you familiar with this part of the world:
1) What were your top items you packed with you OR items you wished you had packed? 2) Which countries are best for which months in your own opinion? Specifically, I don’t mind the rain at all but not trying to be stuck in hurricane weather or cold weather as I’m trying to keep my packing on the lighter side.
Background: I’m a 25 year old solo female traveler dedicating most of 2018, if not all of it, to backpacking my way down Central and South America with just my Osprey Farpoint 55L via work exchanges and au pairing. There’s absolutely no rush for me. I’m starting out in Guatemala in a couple of weeks where I’ll be til about March/April (woooo!). I love me a good rainy day so weather isn’t a huge issue so long as I avoid colder climates and hurricane zones during the high seasons. Let me know if you need more info that. Edit: does anybody have some useful info or experience to share regarding traveling across borders on ground transportation?
