Advice needed for road trip in West US (California)
Hi, all Reddit road trippers,
We are a family for four planning an epic road trip in California in July 2018. We plan to touch down in either LAX or SFO and then drive for about four weeks through the west coast area of USA and deeper into the more prominent national parks.
We have never been on a road trip before, and our primary goal is to take it slow and have a loose plan to follow. None of us want to sit 6-7 hours in a car each day. The kids are aged 8 and 13 at the time of the road trip.
Some of the highlights we are looking at are:
- General sightseeing in LA
- Hit the beaches in / or just outside LA
- Grand Canyon
- Horse Shoe Bend
- Bryce Canyon
- Death Valley
- Yosemite Park
- Lake Tahoe
- General sightseeing in SF
Is there something we are missing? Any MUST-see place that we should drive to?
Or just any kind of good advice you want to pass along to us novice road trippers? Size of rental car? Avoid AirBnB? Etc...
