Morocco Advice

Hello everyone!

I'm planning for a trip to Morocco next April, and just wanted a few suggestions from those who have been. I might end up making this a solo female trip (I have been reading about what to expect in that regard, and having recently visited a city in Pakistan, I am sure I can handle this), or I might have my boyfriend join, so both of those scenarios are possible, and may affect certain aspects of the trip. Because of school, I have somewhere between 6-12 days I can spend, and so am not sure how many cities I can reasonably visit without feeling like I'm completely rushing.

I am extremely interested in experiencing and exploring the culture, way of life, and food (looking forward to the tagine!). I adore museum/art scenes, but am also interested in exploring the desert/nature. I suppose I enjoy being immersed into cultures as much as I possibly can, and welcome opportunities for culture shock whereever possible.

As far as travel style goes, I definitely don't want to be rushing from place to place just to be able to say that I've been somewhere when I haven't really experienced much (and obviously there is nothing wrong with people who enjoy that faster pace, whatever works for you), but obviously I understand that since my days are so few, it might not be possible to do more than just sightsee.

So I suppose what I want to ask is whether within that timeframe it is possible to explore at least two cities, or if I'd be better off with just one (looking at Marrakesh, Fes, Rabat, etc).

Other interests with this particular trip: markets, architecture/mosques, bazaars, etc.

How much is doable/reasonable given my interests?

As always, thank you so much.
