I'm planning on going somewhere for my first time ever solo near the end of December but right before January for 10 days.

I was looking into South America specifically Mexico City or asia specifically japan. I'm not sure if this is a good place to go for the first time. What flights would be reasonably priced around that time?

I know 10 days isn't a long time but I have work so it will be hard to get more time off, maybe I can flex to 12 or 13 days. Do people have other suggestions for any other countries for that amount of time for a first timer. Thanks for the help
