Suggestions on where to go on a modest budget
Hello!
In the interest of keeping this short, I am looking for some suggestions on vacation destinations. I'm a Canadian and have booked myself some time off during the Winter to get away from the cold. I'd preferably like to go somewhere that would be comfortable t-shirt and shorts weather. I'd like to lounge around during my trip but also go on excursions to see and experience things, I need activities to keep me occupied. While laying about on a beach is great I'm not the type of person that can do that for an entire trip. Since I only have a week I'd like to be away for a good 4 - 5 days. Longer would be nice but I need to give myself time to settle back home before heading back to work. My budget would be around 1K - 1.2K Cdn. It's healthy but not lavish.
I've thought about going to a resort but going to a resort solo doesn't feel like it would be ideal. Most of those places are filled with vacationing families or friends or couples and I'd just feel out of place.
With all of that in mind where would be some good places to go? I really don't know where I should go so any and all suggestions would be super helpful!
