I will visit Lombok, Indonesia in end of November, where should I stay?

I am 29, male. I will start a short trip in November. Lombok island will be one of the steps. But as I see, the island is big. I am not sure how can I spend my time or where should I stay?

I will visit Kuala lumpur, taiwan and kota kinabalu before Lombok.

Lenght will be 6 days. My accommodation budget is around 25 USD/day. Personally, I dont prefer to stay hostels. They are crowded (6 or 8 beds in same room) and I couldnt sleep well.

I want to try diving, snorkeling in Gili islands. I like nature. I want to do some nature trekking but I think Mount rinjani is not good around these days to climb or trek?
