Was planning a week vacation to Barcelona the last week of November- still a good idea?
My boyfriend is traveling for work to the middle east the beginning of December. We wanted to add a budget trip to Europe, and were planning on Barcelona from November 24th-December 1st. We're both fairly well traveled, and have spent time in France, Italy, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.
Neither have us have been to Spain, we speak a little Spanish, and were really looking forward to the regional cuisine and museums. We haven't bought tickets yet. I have been following current events in Spain for a few months now, and have concerns about the current political situation there.
Because money is a little tight, should we be cautious and scrap the Barcelona plans? Or should we take a chance that things might simmer down by December or at least be safe for tourists? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. I would also love suggestions for alternatives with a similar price point (we're flying from Cleveland, Ohio USA.)
