Roadtrip San Fran > Portland > Seattle > Vancouver
Hi guys, I'm looking to do a road trip next June or July for 3 weeks up the west coast starting in SF, up the 101 to Portland, Seattle then crossing the boarder to Vancouver. I've seen posts here and there about a trip similar to this and wanted to ask a few questions. Firstly, I'm travelling with my girlfriend and a close mate & we're all from Sydney. Looking for great sights/nature (preferably away from the crowd), hikes & most importantly tasty food(any cuisine - we're willing to try almost anything)

Planning to fly into SF & stay a day or two then beginning the trip to Redwood NP. Continue along the coast till Cannon Beach & then a right inland to Portland. What sites are areas should we stop at along the coast before reaching the beach? Crater Lake looks amazing but goes away from the coastline which everyone talks highly about.

What's the recommended time to spend in Portland & Seattle? For Portland I don't have much other than doing a little bit of shopping and eating. With Seattle, I hear Olympic NP is a great spot to check out and Mount Rainier also. Have I missed anything else?

In Vancouver/Greater BC, we're considering driving up north to Jasper NP and then down to Banff. I hear that this area gets really packed during summer and my friend hates big crowds. So was wondering if there are quieter spots similar to these 2 areas, that you guys can recommend?

How long does the trip usually take from SF to Seattle? Looking to spend roughly 7 days in BC then either fly back to SF or other public transport means.
