New to traveling as a civilian. Best way to book a vacation package w/ monthly payments?
I served in the military for a while, so I've traveled all over. I've taken leave while in foreign countries. When I first got out, I worked for a company that did government work on Navy Ships, so I traveled around the world for work. But I've never had to book my own over seas vacation package. I don't know where or how to start.
Background info. My sister has had a very rough year this year. She's about 27 and I'm 31. So I thought taking her on a vacation to her dream location is exactly what she needs. Ireland is one place she wishes to go to more than any other place, so I'd like to surprise her with a vacation there.
Now after doing some research, I've found that the cheapest times to go to Ireland are between June and August. So I figured an August 2018 trip would be perfect. Yes it's a ways away, but with the holiday's coming up, flying home, shopping, etc.. I can't exactly afford a $2,000-$3,000 trip all up front now. Expedia claimed to offer monthly payments but I can't seem to find it when I'm checking out/booking.
So my question(s) is/are: What is one of the best way's for two American's (One in Oklahoma and one in Virginia) to book a vacation package (Hotel, Air, and a car rental) to Ireland that would let me pay it off over the next several months? I don't use credit cards.. I know this is weird, but my few check cards/debits do me fine. Otherwise I'd just charge it all and pay it off that way. I am looking to fly into Dublin, but really any type of package that let's us see the country would work too. I just don't know how to go about finding a vacation package, especially one I can pay off monthly. That's very important.
