I am from South Africa and have never been to the States before. I have a friend who I would like to visit in Florida but have been thinking since I will be in your beautiful country I may as well make the most of it by starting my trip in New York City and then hiring a car and driving down to Florida. Is this possible at this time of the year (I know it is winter and it could snow)? Should I pre book hotels or take it as it comes? Which cities should I visit along the way (I will definitely be visiting Washington)? I am planning this over the Christmas holidays and plan on being in Florida over New Year, what other factors should I take into consideration?
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
