I'm Assuming My Mom Was Scammed Already by Grand/Coast to Coast Getaways... Do You See Any Risk To Using These Supposedly Free Trips She Supposedly Already Has?
Apologies if this is the wrong sub for this. I did check the sidebar, but please let me know if I should ask elsewhere & I'll repost it in the right sub!
My mother in law has been getting incessant phone calls all day, every day from this obnoxious company, so I finally called them & started ripping into them.
Long story short, I'm being told that she already has a "bronze membership" that she doesn't pay anything for (like annually, or in the future) so my assumption is that she must've already paid them at some point. I simply couldn't get a straight answer on that. The guy mentioned she's been a member since 2010...
He's saying she already has this Journey 8 deal which includes 8 days & 7 nights at a condo resort in one of 8 destinations (the usual... Vegas, Hawaii, etc) for 2 adults. She has until March 2018 to book. There's no presentation, time share nonsense, etc. All she pays is taxes, resort fees, incidentals, etc.
Additionally, she also has a 4/3 hotel stay with the same general parameters, 50 destinations to choose from, and she'll earn a "bonus trip"... A 5/4 cruise to the Bahamas or Mexico.
And finally, a 3/2 hotel stay as well. Same general parameters.
By the end of the camp, I was under the impression that she'd probably already paid some ridiculous amount of money years ago & that she should go ahead & use these up.
I wanted to check with you guys to see if there's an angle I'm missing here, or if you think the same thing I do. Any questions I should ask that insiders would be aware of, or that a lay person wouldn't know to ask?
I'm obviously feeling extremely apprehensive about it, but if it's what I suspect, then I'll tell her to go ahead & book.
Thank you for your help!
