Help reassure a nervous honeymooner
This may not be the right place to ask this, but I'm sorta at a loss as to where to ask currently.
My fiancé and I are getting married next sunday, and we're supposed to go to st. Thomas for our honeymoon the day after. With everything as bad as it is, we thought for sure we could get our stay refunded, but the resort has said they can't guarantee we will yet, and won't know until closer to the actual departure date. Our insurance policy (got the most comprehensive one possible thank the Lord) states that we will be reimbursed if the location is deemed "unlivable."
Would any of you happen to know enough to reassure me that the current state of the island meets that standard? I feel really bad asking something like this because it seems so so petty compared to the problems so many locals over there are facing. But knowing whether or not we can reasonably expect our money back is going to really help us budget a replacement trip or know to cancel entirely. Thanks so much for any thoughts/opinions!
