Relationship ended, need advice on solo international travel
Hi all,
This is probably going to develop into a stream of thought, so bear with me and thank you to those who do.
25 y/o male in the US. Looking to go abroad for the first time (literally wanted to do this my entire life, but never could afford to). A very important relationship just ended and I need to get back on my feet and 'find myself' again (as cliche as that sounds). I don't have much money, but I'm just about determined to go abroad for about 5 days at the end of Sept/ early Oct. The thing is, I want to go EVERYWHERE so I need some help deciding the best place to go. I'd like to be able to keep the activities cheap, am totally willing to stay in a hostel, and want to interact with the locals, see the local culture, socialize, etc. I want spontaneous adventure, essentially. I love motorcycling (road racing in particular), nature, backpacking, photography, different cultures in general, going to bars, seeing local museums, sipping a nice beverage in a cafe somewhere, etc.
I was thinking Ireland since I'm of Irish blood, and have never been abroad, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm fairly shy and have lost a lot of my confidence, but I want to break out of my shell so I'm willing to push my limits. I'm going alone. Any tips on how to keep things spontaneous and preventing myself from just being a recluse the whole time and sitting in a hotel/hostel room, or tips for my goals in general?
Thanks
