Problems getting into countries without a plan to leave?
I haven't been able to find an answer to this with the ol' searchy search:
I want to basically solo wander around the globe, only planning one stop ahead. I've heard of people doing this but I've also read that you can have issues getting into a country/area without a plan/ticket to leave within your allowed time (I have a US passport so most are 90 days). I read somewhere that the airlines may not even let you board your outbound flight if you don't have a ticket to move on from the destination area. Maybe it's only an issue for oversea flights? If so is this only true for US outbound flights or also for say a flight from Vietnam to Thailand? For Schengen I know you can wander between countries without issue once you're in but what about areas like SEA? Do I effectively have to plan 2 borders ahead? What if I change my mind and want to stay somewhere longer? Is it an issue for flights only or also for ground travel? To be clear I'm not trying to stay longer than allowed, I just want to keep planning to a minimum and go with the flow.
