Itinerary advice request: Scandinavia in Autumn
Hi all! My wife and I are planning a trip to Scandinavia Oct 25 - Nov 8. We know it's not the best time of the year to travel to the region but we're really looking forward to making the most of it.
Fly into Oslo on the 25th and out of Helsinki on 8th. We'd like to do a mixture of nature and city activities. Our preference is to spend a longer time in each place and see more of it than to pack things in contiki-style, especially with the shorter days that time of year.
We're planning on buying a Scandinavian Rail pass to get around, except for a flight from Copenhagen to Helsinki.
The rough itinerary so far looks like this:
25 fly into Oslo PM 26 full day in Oslo 27 full day in Oslo/near day trip 28 Train to Flam, stay overnight 29 fjord ferry and Stegastein, back to oslo that evening 30 train to Stockholm (or stop somewhere along the way) 31 full day in Stockholm 1 full day in Stockholm/surrounds 2 full day in Stockholm/surrounds 3 train to Copenhagen 4 full day in Copenhagen 5 full day in Copenhagen/surrounds 6 fly to Helsinki 7 round trip ferry to Tallinn 8 fly out from Helsinki
I'd love to hear any suggestions or tips you might have, especially in regards to day trips or any strong suggestions to alter our current plan!
