Drive to Toronto from Michigan for International Flight; what to tell Customs?
My wife and I have discovered how international travel from Toronto is much cheaper than from Detroit, and are about to book a flight for a visit to her home country. Before we book it however, we are worried about how to answer questions the Custom's Officers (both at the boarder of Canada/Michigan and at the airport) would ask us in regards to our stay, return, and reason for the month-long visit "to Toronto".
Would it be right to be honest, and mention we're going to the Toronto airport to fly internationally? Or is there an easier, more straight forward way to say we're visiting family (in another country, besides this one)?
Additional details that could concern us is my wife is from Europe and has a green card and a non-US passport.
Thank you for taking the time to read!
