Florida to California - Help me choose the route! Any recommendations for cool spots along the way?
This is a related post to my earlier one looking for a roadtrip partner for this trip (I'm still looking for one by the way).
Anyways, could the wise ones here help me choose between the 3 routes I'm considering for this drive.
Option A: I can say I have been to more states if I choose this route (FL, GA, MS, AR, OK, TX, NM, AZ and CA)
Option B: I will be going through Louisiana and skipping GA, AL and AR
Option C: I will be driving close to the US-Mexico border and I have the option to make a quick detour to Big Bend national park.
I'm into nature, music, cars and I like exploring anything really niche to the area.
I've just explored Option B, the shortest route. Things that I wanna do/that caught my eye are: 1. Mississippi river crossing in Baton Rouge, LA 2. Shooting a gun (bucket list thing) at a roadside gun range in texas 3. Cadillac ranch after Amarillo in texas 4. Musical highway in New Mexico on Route 66.
Please give me your inputs about which route to take and about all the cool spots along the way.
