From western MD to Oshawa, Ontario
Hi Folks, new to this sub. I've done a few major road trips throughout my lifetime and although I was (up until recently) a CDL driver, never had to go TOO far too often.
I'll be traveling next week from western MD (Washington County) to Oshawa, Ontario. I'll be crossing over the Peace Bridge. I plan on simply going the quickest way Google Maps routes me, which seems to generally be the same regardless. If anyone is "in the know", I'd appreciate some advice:
-
Any particular recommended stops? I don't plan on doing restaurants or anything on the way, just a few places to get out, use the bathroom, stretch, etc.
-
Anyone know how toll roads work in Canada for US Citizens? The Queen Elizabeth Way/407 seems to really be faster. While there is a little info online about using 407 as an out of province/US driver, I haven't found much information about how I get my bill/statement, as it is apparently an electronic toll/no toll workers. Does anyone have any experience in recent years with dealing with this?
I would gratefully accept any and all advice that you might feel is pertinent. Thank you!
(I am aware of pre-border crossing covid vaccine and testing requirements).
